Short answer: Shoraku is a Norwegian brand for high-quality hairdressing scissors (founded in 2024), born from nearly 20 years of daily repair and maintenance of salon scissors. We offer two lines — Professional Series (renowned manufacturer in China) and Master Series (handmade by a small workshop in Japan) — produced exclusively from steels by leading Japanese makers (e.g., Hitachi, Takefu, Aichi). With service partners in Norway and Germany, we support you across borders. Value for money is our credo: pro-grade scissors without brand hype, with an ergonomic focus (incl. ball bearings in almost all models) to reduce strain on fingers, hands and arms.
Origin & Foundation
After almost 20 years of daily maintenance, repair and sharpening of professional hairdressing scissors, we founded Shoraku in Norway in 2024 — with the goal of giving stylists tools that truly matter in everyday salon work.

Materials: premium Japanese steels
Shoraku uses only steels from leading Japanese producers such as Hitachi, Takefu and Aichi — including VG10, molybdenum–cobalt alloys, as well as powder metallurgy (PM) steels and Damascus steels of the highest grade. The result: durable edges, smooth action and a consistent cutting feel.
